Product Description

The design is based on a motif from Palestinian tatreez, a cross-stitch tradition that has been practiced by women in Palestine for centuries. The design is Qalada Ward/Flowers Pendant from Yazoor, documented by Nabil Anani and Sliman Mansour (more info here). Made with Czech preciosa seed beads. They have 14kt gold filled ear wires and are 1" x 1.5". This item is located in Laramie, Wyoming and can be shipped anywhere in the US. Use code LARAMIE for free local drop off.

 

About the Artist

Birch Malotky is a writer and maker living in Laramie, Wyoming. From beadwork to basketry, she loves seeing things take shape from small component parts.

 

About Laramie Makers for Palestine

Our local artist community has donated over 50 items for purchase and raffle that will directly benefit the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), an organization that has provided food, healthcare, education, camp organization, and more to Palestinian refugees since 1949.

 

SALE DETAILS:

We will be releasing three drops with an eclectic mix of items from local makers, based in Laramie and beyond. 100% of proceeds from all three sales will benefit UNRWA.

 

RAFFLE DETAILS:

From March 23 to May 4, we will be selling raffle tickets for five locally made items including gorgeous ceramics, knit-wear, and gift certificates to local businesses. Raffle tickets are available for purchase through Birch Malotky on Venmo (birch-malotky). Raffle winners will be drawn on May 4.

Additionally, each person who participates in one of our letter writing events or purchases an item in our drops (details below) will receive one raffle entry. If attending multiple events or purchasing multiple items, one raffle ticket will be given for each event/item.
